Do you sometimes feel like you're not being who you really are? That you're being a whole lot of things for other people? Super mum, provider dad, best grades daughter, sports hero son, host with the most, community saviour, best friend to all, [_fill in your own stick on identities here_]? It's easy to get lost in that maze, hey? So ask this question to remind yourself that you can choose to be YOU: "If I were me, who would I be?" What decisions have you made about who or what you must be? Was that your idea or someone else's? Whatever yours reasons, decisions will only limit you. Questions on the other hand will open your eyes to possibilities you might not have been willing or able to see before, and empower you to choose consciously what you'd really like. So ask: "What have I decided I must be. If I could choose anything, who would I be?" You may choose the same. Or you may not. In any case, the choice will be consciously yours. And how will that make you feel?
Has someone, sometime sold you the idea you can't be something? You're not clever, pretty, thin, tall, handsome, rich, strong, creative, [__fill in your own limitation here__] enough to be that? What if that weren't true? Use this question to unlock the doors to everything you have decided it is not possible to be. You might not end up with exactly what you started out thinking you'd like, but you will no longer be limited by someone else's 'can'ts'. And you may (re)discover the greater you, beyond anything you could have ever imagined. What if you could be you and change the world?
