What do you say when terrible things show up in your life? Do you say “Oh NO, look what happened?!” What about when great things show up? What do you say then? Anything like “Oh my goodness! I can't believe it!”? Would you like more great things to show up? Are you willing to acknowledge that YOU are the creator of everything in your life? All the good, the bad, the beautiful and the ugly? YOU created it all? If so, then say “Wow, look at all the awesome/rubbish stuff I've created in my life! I wonder what else I could create?” When you're willing to acknowledge that YOU are the author, creator, director, architect, engineer, draftsperson, CEO, President, Prime Minister, Grand Poobah of your own life, then you regain hold of the reigns of it's creation. If you can create magnificent rubbish, you can undoubtedly create magnificent magnificence. So then the question becomes, what would you truly like to create in your life?
Do you have an interest, hobby, project, event, job, business, or something that you'd love to share with others and have then join in and help it grow? Have you found it easy engaging others in your vision? Or have you been a little surprised that more people didn't “get it”? Maybe you've even been shocked that some of your closest friends or people you thought were in the same zone RAN AWAY? Have you or others ever described what you do as a “passion” or “higher purpose”? How do those descriptions sound to you? Light and breezy? Heavy and serious? What do YOU prefer in life? Light and breezy, or heavy and serious? Whichever that is, if you're not experiencing the interest in your project you'd like, ask “What question could I be that would tickle people's curiosity?” If you prefer light and breezy, add “..and laughter or something greater?”
Have you ever been overwhelmingly excited about something or someone? How did your body respond? Did your heart and mind race? Did you lie awake all night dreaming of all the future possibilities? Despite your lack of sleep, did you function on an adrenaline overload? Did your body enjoy it? What exactly did it contribute to the object of excitement? Did it expand you and your project with ease and elegance, joy and reward? Was it the invitation to others you expected? And did it help you get anything done? Or did your excitement distract you, keep you frozen in hopes and dreams? Did you find people did not seem to catch the fire of your excitement the way you expected? If excitement has not worked the way you thought it would, ask “What contribution is this excitement?” If you notice it's not what you thought it was, ask “Who does this belong to?” and What else is possible?” What if simply being you were the greatest contribution, beyond anything you can imagine?
Have you been wondering about consciousness and where fun fits into it all? If consciousness includes everything and judges nothing, does that mean you are consciousness and you are everything? Does that also mean you are everywhere, have everything, and are everything, including fun? And you know this is a free-will universe and you have infinite free choice to create whatever you like as you life and living? So what about joy? How do you create stuff in your life that is, quite simply, wonderful fun? Start with a question, like “What makes me smile, giggle and vibrate with joyful enthusiasm for more and more and more?” What came to mind? Whatever THAT was, choose it. And if you don't quite have a clear scent, CHOOSE ANYTHING and see if you laugh. If you don't, choose something else. If you do and then it stops, choose something else. Sound fun?
What is your point of view about money, for example? That there isn't enough to go around? That it doesn't grow on trees? That you have to work long and hard to get enough? Whatever your points of view about money, is that more or less what is showing up for you? So your points of view are not wrong? And if something is working for you, there is no need to change your point of view about it. What about when something is NOT working for you? For example, if you'd really prefer more money in your life? In that case, play with this. Ask “What if I changed my point of view?” Then, every time you start to say something about money, STOP and say “Interesting I have that point of view. I wonder what else is possible, greater than I can imagine?” What else would you like to change? The people in your life, your health, you daily activities like work? What else could you change your point of view about that could create a whole new reality you can't yet imagine? Start to play?
Do you have events that you go over and over in your mind? Things at work, school, with your family or friends? Do you tell them again and again to anyone who'll listen? What is it about those event that makes you retell them? Do they make you feel good and help you move on? Do they make people take notice of you or feel sympathy for you? When you tell your stories, does it invite new events, people and possibilities into you life? Or does it focus all your interest, energy and talents on the limitations of the story? Are they justifications about why you can't do something. To clarify what lies behind your stories, ask “What's the value of my story?” and notice what comes to mind. If they don't have the value you'd like, just notice it with “hmm, interesting,” then talk about something else. If someone you know is telling you the same story again and again, you can choose to listen politely, avoid them, or smile and say “Wow, that's a great story. Got any others?” You never know what your question will create.
Do you have an election coming up? Maybe it's for your kid's PTA, your local council or state government, or something...bigger? Do you know who you'd like to win? What is it that made you decide they're right for the job? Are you willing to do whatever it takes to contribute to that result? If so start here. Sense the energy of the leadership and its contribution to your community that you're seeking. Can you separate that from the person running for election? Then ask“What will it take to contribute to the leadership I desire greater than I can imagine?” Are you willing to destroy and uncreate every decision, judgement and conclusion you've made about everyone in the election? And are you willing to receive NOT the person you've decided is 'right', if that's what shows up, and then ask another question? Sometimes it takes time for the universe to rearrange things. Sometimes things might seem to fall apart before they fall together...
How honest are you with you? A lot, a little, or not at all? Don't know? Think about your life right now. The people, things, activities, pleasures, excitements, adventures, its peace and ease. Is it more than you could ever ask for, about right, or not nearly enough? If you could have even more of the good stuff, would you? How often do you settle for ok, good enough, or “what you deserve”? Deserve, deserve? Do birds or crocodiles deserve anything? Or do they simply know what they require and receive everything nature has to offer? Are you willing to receive it too? If you'd like to expand your life in ways you can't yet imagine, ask “What would I REALLY like to have that I have not dared ask for, that if I asked it out loud would create it?” Are you willing to acknowledge what you truly desire, then ask for it and receive it? Don't know? Then play with this.
Do you feel like your life is a mess? Is nothing quite working out the way you thought it would? Do people you thought you could rely on keep leaving you stranded? Have you asked lots of questions, but nothing is showing up how you expected it to? Do you feel like everything is falling apart? If so, ask “What if falling apart was falling together?” What if all those things you've been working on 28/8 bleeding sweat and tears were still works in progress? What if the universe was rearranging things in a way you can't yet imagine? What if the mess were simply mid-creation? Before you decide something is not working, stop and ask “What's right about this that I'm not getting?” and “What will it take for this to turn out better than I could ever imagine?” Then smile and enjoy the creative process.
Have you ever heard someone REALLY happy singing at the TOP of their voice in the shower? Yeees, they're so haaaaappy and it's a great morrrrning, la la la LAAAAAH!!!! Can you get that joyful, exuberant energy of “sing”? Do you know it? Have you ever had it? Can you remember it at least from when you were a child or some other past experience? Your first love, receiving your first pay check, the first day of summer holidays, something else? Got it? Would you like to have that every moment of every day? Or as a start, at least once a day for a moment starting now? If so, ask “What would make me sing today?” This does't mean you need to burst into actual song. Simply to be aware of what it is that makes every cell in your body and being vibrate with that energy of joy? Whatever THAT is for you, will you create it once for you today? Even if it means inviting someone special over for a slow afternoon “coffee” and taking the afternoon off? Or something else...
